About Glory Gang

Our community-wide ministry is dedicated to meeting the needs of at-risk children and helping them discover their identity in Christ so that they may thrive.

Glory Gang Young Children

We are a non-profit, non-denominational outreach program dedicated to helping at-risk youth in Nacogdoches County. Glory Gang is assisting these children with coping and overcoming the challenges that they face every single day. Weekly, we are meeting the tangible and spiritual needs of more than 400 children by feeding them a meal, sharing the Gospel, getting to know them through services and visitations, encouraging them and giving them the hope they need to flourish as citizens in their schools and communities.

Our weekly Sunday night service is an action-packed hour filled with fun, fellowship, music, games, puppets, drama and a whole lot more. Our evening closes with an age appropriate message and a hot meal. Throughout the year, we are blessed to be able to continue to serve these children by providing food, clothing, shoes, supplies, backpacks, Christmas gifts, summer camp scholarships and Biblical training through weekly worship and Vacation Bible School.

The staff and volunteers of Glory Gang are committed to the community, children and families we serve. Each week, with consistency and love, our caring team visits hundreds of children and their families across all races and cultures as we focus on our vision of seeing hurting children find a new Christ-centered life so that they can face the challenges and negativity of the world we live in with love and grace.

Meet Our Directors Richard and Dottie Konderla

At the heart of Glory Gang are Richard and Dottie Konderla. Richard serves as the program director and pastor of this amazing organization. Alongside Richard, sharing every burden and blessing, is his wife of 30 years, Dottie Konderla. Since 1988, they have been a team in the ministry of children’s evangelism, and 13 of those years they have spent serving in Nacogdoches County.

After attending the Assemblies of God Church, it was pressed on their hearts to reach at-risk youth across all races and cultures and help them conquer life with God at the center, and thus began the Glory Gang. Together, they battled through adversity and challenges and Glory Gang broke barriers of racial tension and emotional defenses. The Lord softened hearts and enabled the children to hear the truth that Richard spoke. Dottie sums it up well, “There is fruit; we see trust where there was anger and relationships built between the children.”

“It’s so much bigger than us; we are grateful for the team of volunteers, bus drivers, prayer warriors, meal teams, area churches, donors, every single person who gives of themselves.” Dottie Konderla

Over the years, they have witnessed the powerful changes that have occurred through their ministry. They have seen so much growth, not just in numbers but also in character. Richard and Dottie have loved each of these children as their own, and it’s more common than not to see Dottie in the background holding and loving on a child as Richard speaks from the stage. They are extremely grateful for their staff, team of volunteers and community for their part in making a positive difference in the lives of the children at Glory Gang.

We are Empowering Youth and Raising Future Leaders

Glory Gang is dedicated to assisting at-risk children from 3 to 12 years of age. However, once a child turns 12 years old, they are invited to join the Junior Worker program. Junior Workers are grafted in and trained to give back to the community and serve in the ministry in the same ways that they have been shown throughout the years. In this role, they help facilitate meals, weekly visits and serve in many of the roles as our adult volunteers.

Along with serving, they participate in training and further teaching of what it means to be a child of God and to lead from that identity. These Junior Workers are our future leaders, pastors and teachers. Glory Gang began because a volunteer decided that these children were worth their time and made the decision to invest in their future. We are making a difference in the lives of our future leaders, and we want you to be a part of that too!
